Mixbus 3 review license#
Its worth paying the modest price of mixbus to try it out, you can always give or sell your license to someone else if you don't like it. It can be really inspiring and you'll find yourself mixing faster and more efficiently. If you like mixing and are interested in how mixbus (sort of) emulates the feel of mixng on a analogue board I'd definitely try it. The magic and appeal of mixbus is in its mixing but you won't be held back if you want to edit with it also. Not the greatest editor but cetainly not the worst. Its a bit weird but theres ways around it and when collaborating with other mixbus users the plugins they've used won't be inactive if you haven't got a license for them.Įditing is pretty good but I haven't really put the time in to become a master at it with mixbus. You can use all the plugins but the GUI freezes up and you have close then reopen the plugin to keep using it. A lot of features and plugins are hidden behind a semi pay wall. Its not perfect though, utility busses don't have delay compensation severely limiting their use (all other tracks and busses work fine). When people talk about how great it sounds its more likely them working more efficiently making them think it sounds better.

You'll find yourself using less third party plugins and just get down to mixing stuff.

Having all your EQs, compressors and routing readily available makes mixing really fast. In reality, the magic comes from it's workflow and simulation of operating analogue gear. A lot of people talk about how the the DAW sounds, having a magic analogue sound. I've been using mixbus since version 2 and imo it is the most fun DAW for mixing.
